Economics Symposium聽
The Economics Symposium is one of the School of Business Administration鈥檚 largest and most anticipated events and is traditionally held every two years. The next symposium, the 29th in the series, is scheduled for Fall 2026. Throughout its history, the symposium has featured distinguished speakers, each addressing timely and influential economic topics. Each event typically highlights the work of a nationally renowned economist.
2017: Christina Romer, Class of 1957 Garff B. Wilson Professor of Economics at the 海角论坛 of California, Berkeley, presented 鈥淚n the Wake of Disaster: The Great Recession in Historical Perspective.鈥
2019: Bud Barnes, Professor of Economics and Dean Emeritus at Gonzaga 海角论坛 and founder of the Economics Symposium, presented 鈥淎merica Divided: An Economic Perspective.鈥
2021: David Card, 1950 Professor of Economics at the 海角论坛 of California, Berkeley, presented 鈥淓conomics and Public Policy: Lessons from the Debates on Immigration.鈥
2024: David H. Autor, Ford Professor of Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, presented 鈥淭he Consequences of Technological Changes and Globalization.鈥
